Grip 2004 was a performance displaying how long one chooses to hold on to something before they decide to let it go. Charles had pre-threaded a 25’ rope through a ring that was anchored into the ceiling rafter of the gallery space. One end of the rope he bit and with the other end he used to pull himself up to the ceiling. He lasted 3 minutes in suspension before letting go with his hands.
